Alpha & Omega - November 20, 2007 I think I can say my skeptical view towards Adobe Photoshop is well gone. In fact, my frustration towards it has developed into a sort of affection for the software. Generally, with the CS3 release, Adobe has pretty much screwed over all of its apps' layouts, but for Photoshop, they did a pretty good job.
First actual photoshop attempt. Considering the speed of my new computer, I was able to make it without any real loading time, although it was still a fairly (relatively) long process. I consider this my first attempt because this was my first try at learning photoshop by myself, and because my previous computer was such a piece of trash, if I tried to do anything heavy (like this), it would crash on me.
NM Website - November 18, 2007 I really kind of hit myself over the head with the production of this website. For so long, I was used to making an open, clean, efficient design, with minimal images, yet enough to make it look professional. With this website, however, I went for the rebellious, individial look. This was the first time I tested myself with such a style, and, in my opinion, it turned out relatively well. Relatively.
I used a ton - a ton - of images. Well, actually, not that much, just as in the percentage of images to text, or the ratio of it. In this website, I have three images: the background linear gradient, the menu & image as one image, and the banner image. All other images are not actually part of the design. After the first or second table, all design elements that are in the form of images disappear. Not with this NM website - everything is neatly enclosed, with as much image content as possible. This is my first time doing such a thing - I hope I didn't screw it up too badly. The feedback has been positive, so far... [view website] |
Take that, Bill!- November 27, 2007 Recently, Steve Jobs was ranked by Fortune magazine as the most powerful person in business, leaving behind Murdoch and the Google founders and - Bill gates, trailing along in sixth. Take that, Bill. That's what you get for all those blue screens.
Adobe wisens up - November 22, 2007 Yes, the new CS3 logos were beyond stupid. I agree. But it seems Adobe is wisening up on the entire logo thing. If you go to their website, www.adobe.com, you notice that their logo for Flash is still a square - which I like - and the original flash logo "F" inside it - which, I think, was an idiotic idea to get rid of in the first place.
However, we people who have bought CS3 are still stuck with the not-really-great logos. Don't get me wrong, I love the entire square concept and all, it looks fabulous. The reason why the new logos are so objectionable is because they got rid of the fancy "F" for flash, the fancy "Fw" for fireworks, and replaced it with plain text.
Concluding, hopefully, whatever next update Adobe has in store, will bring back the classical macromedia logos. Hope they keep the squares, tthough - got to love the squares.
For Stupid People - November 22, 2007 If you have a Mac, and you were recently infected with the new so called "Trojan", I will not accept applications. I will deny them, for the sake of you being a retarted idiot.
I mean, these viruses aren't viruses. They are software that one willingly chooses to download on their computer, despite three warnings from Apple. It's even password protected - a major hint, considering that plugins like Adobe Flash never require a password in the first place.
A virus in Windows is something that automatically downloads and infects your computer. On a Mac, thi isn't true. You willingly download the "virus", henceforth, it is not a "virus", but an application that you willingly and foolishly downloaded from the internet.
So people complaining about a Mac virus? Not true. Tis a myth, because they want to complain to someone over their broken computer that they broke themselves. Not only that, but Mac OS X 10.5 has lots of tools to help you recover. If you bought it... legally... (don't really know how you bought it illegally), directly from a store, you have backup CDs, usually a Leopard CD and a Tiger CD + iLife 08 and all your default apps. Takes an hour or two to complete the process, but if you were smarter (than the stupid idiot that you were), then you would have used Time Machine, and all your files would be back to normal, and lesson learned - don't be a retarted idiot.
Enter Photoshop - November 21, 2007 I was always skeptical about Photoshop. I knew that Photoshop was a great program, useful for many things, but the layout of all the buttons and tools, and its sheer complexity warded me away from it and any Adobe products for years. However, since Adobe bought Macromedia, there was no choice but to use Adobe products, because Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks - my excuse not to use Photoshop - all became Adobe products. So when I had the option to update from Studio 8 to CS3, I also chose to get Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator as well.
Indesign I haven't really found a use for, and Illustrator - well, let's just say I need work on that field. But Photoshop is an absolute beauty - now that I have a faster computer able to actually make images worth the time to make.
So, no longer will there be only 1024 x 768 wallpapers - instead, all wallpapers will be 1680 x 1050 format. I realize that there is one or so common resolutions that are higher than this, but people who own those monitors usually have a use for them, and the only use for a ridiculously big monitor is for a ridiculously fast computer, and that ridiculously fast computer will only be (usually) used by professional media developers and the like, and those people can probably make their own, better than mine - after all, I am just starting.
Finished - November 16, 2007 After many hours of work, finally, it is finished. The... well, new, New Millennium website has been completed. It should be up this Saturday. Why not the originally planned December release? The simple version of it is: I suck at organizing time. Organizing projects, works, assignments, managing time, all of that is great. Actually setting a due date for myself - that's another story. I need an enforced deadline to keep me in check, or else I will do the things that actually do have a deadline, or things I consider more important. Therefore, by simply updating the entire website in one day, I can avoid the hassle of extending the due date further. |

Website Updates November 22, 2007 - The banner image and some of the other images seem low-quality. Unfortunately, these low quality images will have to stay for viewers with slow internet speeds. (the PNG file is calculated to be 2 MB... ouch). |
